MY FIRST STYLED SHOOT!!

I HOSTED MY VERY FIRST STYLED SHOOT!

I put a poll on my instagram story the other day & asked y’all want y’all wanted to see about my styled shoot. It was super close to both, but the one that won was all the pictures taken at the shoot.

I will be sharing also kinda how I put it all together for the other half of everyone that wanted to know and that’s at the end of the blog.

How I planned my styled shoot.

Basically I think this was one of the hardest most stressful things i’ve ever done. It all fell into place and turned out amazing! I planned my entire shoot in 1 month.

What I did was find a date that worked for me and the venue.

1st thing you need is a venue! I did it kinda wrong, lol, and already had people on board and not my venue. Venue is important, because vendors and photographers will need to know a location.

Other vendors to consider:

  • Dress and Suit

  • Makeup & Hair

  • Stationary

  • Florist

  • Cake

  • Planner or Day of Coordinator

  • Venue

  • Models

  • Stylist

If you have any more questions about things you may need to know about planning your styled shoot, feel free to dm me or email me! I would love to help.

I am now offering shadowing sessions for photographers, and also one on one planning

If you are interested in any of those services they will be under my pricing page!

You need to contact all the vendors you would like to be apart of your shoot. Email them and be friendly!

After you finalize everything with your vendors, If you want to. Open the styled shoot up to other photographers in your area. You can charge a fee or even be very selected with the photographers you allow.

Also, if you need other vendors and no one seems to be replying, put out what you need in your local styled shoot groups or photographers groups.

:)

Also, I am starting a youtube channel, so be on the lookout for my video! I will be putting up behind the scenes of an upcoming shoot with my reps & also a day in my life.

SEPT REP SHOOT

September Senior Rep Shoot!

I finally saw my reps! On this shoot I decided to partner up with The Cheeky Lemon, which is a Houston based online boutique. My friend, Jaime runs the store and whenever she said yes to this shoot I was over the moon!

For the theme I went with transitioning into Fall. As you can see most pieces are short, lightweight, and comfy. Especially in Texas it’s still around 90 degrees. For the location I choose Downtown Houston on a rooftop of a parking garage and also Main Street. It has very city, modern, chic, and moody vibes, which I love oh so much!

If you didn’t know The Cheeky Lemon just posted new arrivals this morning! If you use code “EMILY15” you will get a 15% off discount.

I will be posting some of the pictures in this blog post!

I am over the moon in love with all of thee pictures! I just wanna say I finally made my own presets and they were used on this entire session! It’s amazing how much a person can grow in such a couple of months of trying to make their work the best.

I don’t know how many people actually read my posts all the way through, but for all “potential clients” reading this I am increasing my prices on January 1st. They are increasing due to how my work looks, the time it takes to edit and also the shoot itself, my gear, the amount of money I do put into my business, and also the worth of my work.

I’m not saying any of this to make myself feel better or put anyone down. I am saying this, because I have been stepped all over in my business and I am sick of it. I only want clients who want me for my work. Not because “I’M CHEAP” or “I TAKE GOOD PICTURES AND THEY ARE AFFORDABLE” . I am taking my work seriously and this is my full time job. I will be making my business legit very soon, and if thats not enough for you, then idk what will.

Sorry for that rant, but I need people to know.

Thank you to The Cheeky Lemon for partnering up with me and my reps for this shoot! I love The Cheeky Lemon, and all of their clothing! I’m not saying that because I have to its all real!

Much love to everyone that read’s my blog & I will be starting a youtube channel very soon!

My 1st shoot with my Senior Reps!!

If you didn't know I had an application out for about a month and a half looking for senior reps for my brand. It was literally the most stressful thing I think i've been through yet with my photography. besides like my computer not having enough space on the internal hard drive and like losing all of my work from when I first started. Anyways, that's besides the point. So, I had the application up, and no one was applying AND THEN! These lovely girls all applied and i'm telling you I am so thankful and blessed they did. They are such a great group of girls!

We all met back in May and we talked a little and I told them how I was trying to partner with a boutique and also with a makeup artist for them. Fast forward to now. We had our first shoot and we were partnered with an amazing local boutique called "Mainstream Boutique" and also the amazing makeup artist Ariana Davis .

I didn't have a set idea or theme to this shoot basically I have no idea with really what I'm doing and i'm not ashamed to say it. The girls all had their makeup done, then after we had to have a pre game chick-fil-a meal, then we went to Mainstream Boutique to pick out some clothes for the girl's to wear, and then we went and got started on the photoshoot.

It was about 4:30 when we started shooting (for anyone wondering). The location was a little abandoned houses/field that is off of Dixie Farm Road in Pearland, Texas. If you're wondering. We did a couple of group shoots and individuals there as well. We were starting off great! We did some bubbles at this location which turned out so good I cannot get over them.

Second Location:

The second location i've been wanting to try out for a while and i'm glad I did. It's a donut shop, but it has yellow brick walls. Which is super awesome, because the only other yellow walls I know of are downtown in Houston. The wall is on 35 for you curious cats :) . We just did a few portraits here of the ones who wanted it. Also all my girlies were in love with their shirts from Mainstream Boutique. If you live in Pearland Friendswood area I highly recommend checking them out! They have the nicest staff as well which is such a bonus!!

3rd Location

For the last location is one of my favorites. It was featured in my last blog post. If you missed it click here to check it out! The location was actually perfect for the reps to sit don't and do a couple cute shoots with confetti.

All my social media will be linked down below as well with all my Senior Reps Instagram's! Make sure you follow all of us.

Don't forget to check out Mainstream Boutique & Ariana Davis.
