Why you should elope & the benefits of eloping!

I love elopements & I’m here to tell you why you should elope INSTEAD of having a traditional wedding! As well as tell you some of the benefits that come along with eloping & why it fits couples wants & needs!

Hi there! I’m Emily & I’m a Texas Photographer who captures love, life, & all the precious moments in between. I absolutely love photographing elopements, because it just the two of you, and maybe a few vendors, however if your immediate circle wants to go, then have them be there! It’s important to do what you want for your wedding, so talk with your partner about what that is for y’all.

If you’re engaged & have been rethinking your traditional wedding, then I’m here to tell you to just start planning your elopement!

Getting married will be about you & your partner, so have conversations on how you both envision your wedding day. Think about how you will plan & spend your time & what’s important to you.

If you’ve always dreamed of running off to the mountains & get married, eat a beautiful dreamy cake, run off into the sunset, then do that!

Don’t get me wrong, you have to be real with yourself, your partner, your budget, & find ways to make what y’all are dreaming of happen! If you want more of a longer experience then plan a destination wedding/elopement. When you become engaged you will look at so many vendors, places, people, & then you start to see the numbers, which I know it can be a tad overwhelming! So, think logically & then plan out how long you’re wanting your engagement to be.

Everyone will do what makes the most sense to them. Most couples see the numbers & if that scares you, try not to let it, because there are easier options to choose from & planning everything out for your special day.

I highly recommend finding vendors through social media, friends, family, & always do your research online. Once you get to a point where you’re booking vendors in have conversations & ask all the questions!

Your wedding day should be well spent in good company & those will be the moments that will last you a lifetime when you look back on your wedding gallery. My approach to wedding days is watching it unfold & capturing those moments in front of me, I’m not over the top, because I love being able to watch these moments happen & I will never interrupt a special moment which is why when you book me as your photographer you’ll receive hints of documentary photos within your wedding gallery of photos. I want all my couples to relive their day through photographs, because life is precious & never long enough, so I’m here to help you remember everything from your wedding day.

What are the benefits of eloping?

It can be a more cost efficient way to get married than having a 200 person traditional wedding day. You could possibly travel to a dream destination for the same amount of money for your adventure elopement! If you do spend less money, you’re able to save money. This can allow you to put that money towards a new house. You’re able to look back on your elopement without having any regrets, because you did what you wanted!

Elopements can be for anybody, so don’t forget that it’s an option for you! I travel all over Texas for elopements & weddings, & would love to photograph yours!

Meg & Luke's Summer Engagement Session in San Antonio, Texas.

Never have I ever photographed a session in San Antonio, but last week these two made this happen for me! I had such a blast getting to know these two & hearing about their love & all their wedding day plans. It’s always such a pleasure to be able to work with my couples before their wedding day, because we’re able to break the ice, get all of the awkward stranger vibes out of the way ,& be able to just have fun!

We started the session off by La Villita & walked along the riverwalk, which wasn’t far from where Luke proposed to Meg. I love when there’s all these meaningful little details, but anyways this spot holds a place close to their heart! We then ended the session off at The Historic Pearl in San Antonio, Texas. I was loving all the tones & greenery this evening, the sunset was just shiny & everything was so pretty, despite us being a little sweaty. These two gave kisses among all of the strangers around them & were truly the main characters of the evening, which always make my heart so full!

I can’t wait to celebrate these two in August 🤩🪩🎞️

Laura & Todd's Spring Engagement Session in Cypress, Texas.

Finally sharing another sweet engagement session on the blog! This Spring I have been traveling a ton back & fourth from Flatonia, Texas to Houston, Texas. I had a few months of constant traveling, however now that I’m on the other side of things I’m finally able to have more time to share them with y’all! Earlier this May on one of these Houston trips I photographed Laura & Todd’s Engagement Session. We had been planning this day for a few months & am so happy everything worked out for our session.

The last few hours before our session even started the Houston weather flipped on us & we were all hoping, praying, & stressing up until the start of our session time. Despite the weather stress we had, we started our session off at Brew 30 in Cypress, which is a Brewery Tap House & these two drank a beer, took photos, attempted to play darts, & headed out to their Wedding Venue just down the road.

The Reserve on Cypress Creek is a beautiful, peaceful, in the middle of the forest venue. This is where we spent time taking their Save the Date photo & these two decided to add in their pups for a few photos! To end off our session we went to the Bridgeland Treehouse Park which is such a unique spot for photos & was so fun to do! Plus, they ended with a stunning champagne pop! I love when couples decide to do this, it’s such a fun little way to celebrate y’all!

Also, bring your pups with you to your session! These are always the cutest family photos to have, even if your fur babies can be a little chaotic, I don’t mind it at all! Bring all their favorite treats & their favorite leash.
