Elope with Mr & Mrs. Elliott at the 1901 Courthouse in Houston, Texas.

On a Saturday in Houston, Texas these two eloped outside the courthouse with all their closest family & friends surrounding them. Of course this was during baseball season & it just so happened the couple were big fans of the Astros & that came to be a hot topic on wedding day. The officiant was telling them how that’s where he was headed after he did the job of officiating their wedding ceremony & naturally his wife brought him his Astros baseball cap, so he could be in fashion for the couple. I love how this small detail, will forever be imprinted in their memory when they think of their elopement/wedding day. Micela & Charles were wanting a simple day to celebrate their love for one another. The couple has been together for 7 years, they didn’t feel the need to spend a ton of money on something they wanted to be true to them & wanted an intimate moment without the pressure of a traditional wedding. It was a chill, humid, cloudy afternoon in the city of Houston. After these two were officially married, we walked around the courthouse, admired the beautiful oak trees & I captured the couple. I had them look & hold one another, & bask in the just married feelings. I want my couples to take it all in, feel the emotions, & look at your surroundings. Especially because when you’re eloping in the city, you are the main character!

We walked on over the Main Street & took more photos afterwards we popped in to a bar a grabbed a drink, especially water, because it was a May day in Texas & we were dying of sweat & humidity. I talked with the couple & just got to know them & hear about their life plans. To me I love doing this, I had been working with them for a year & to finally meet them & talk was such a full circle moment. I love how life brings people together & this was one of those moments.

I loved every minute of this day & these photos take me back as if I was in a time machine, so enjoy a peek of The Elliott’s Elopement.

POV: When the couple are big Astros fans & the officiant says he’s attending the game right after this… it’s only right to have him wear his Astros baseball cap!

The flower girl absolutely making this moment even more magical 🥹✨

Also, can we take a moment for the car that got pulled over & the cop to the right hand side… quite literally capturing all the moments.

Shoutout to my amazing second photographer, Kolter for taking this photo of me capturing the day!

Also, Kolter for the win with taking this photo! This was the couple looking at their Polaroid keepsake that they took home after eloping!

I will always love their special day & reminisce on it!

The Ortiz' Fall Family Session in Flatonia, Texas.

Ever since I’ve moved to Flatonia I’ve always found myself dreaming to do photos at the little park in town. I often found myself going to this park to get out the house whether that’s to walk my dog, journal out my thoughts, or have a picnic with my boyfriend. This park is just a great versatile location for photos & I just love it especially during the Fall months!

This season has brought more families my way within the small town & I have enjoyed everyone that has worked with me during my time here! When Tori reached out to me & booked their fall family session, I knew exactly where I wanted to go that I have been hoping to go to! Plus, Demi Jo is the cutest girl & brought all the smiles & some sass to their family session.

Family Photo Tip: When doing family photos I highly suggest bringing a toy, sweet treat, or doing something rewarding afterwards, so the kiddos have something to look forward to after, so they smile pretty for photos.

I always try my best to mix it up during family sessions, so we’re able to get multiple backgrounds & poses in, before the attention span of the small kiddos gets lost. Plus, this is so y’all have more than enough to choose from within your full gallery of photos!

If you’re curious how I go about family sessions this is typically my routine! I always start out with the everyone in the family, this is where we will do a few different formal poses. It’s a must to get individuals of each kiddo & with each parent. Then, once were half way done with our session, I let the kids have a break! They can run around while I focus on just Mom & Dad! Finally, to end the session I get the family back together one last time & do more candid poses with y’all moving around, this allows the kids to feel a bit more comftable doing simple things like; walking, running around mom & dad, & just interacting as a family! And before you know it we’re done with our session & the rest is history & memories captured.

Why it's important to document your family during the holiday season & why you should!

This is always the time of the year when everyone starts thinking about the holidays! Then, the to do list begins… Often times you forget about the yearly Christmas card or maybe you want to start doing one! Well I’m here to tell you why it’s important to document your family & also, why it’s the best season to do it!

Why it’s important to have your family documented?

To start off, being able to have all the faces a part of your family photographed is a special thing. This is how you’ll reminisce in years to come & look back on our current present. It’s not a trick, but hiring a photographer for family photos can make the process a little more smooth sailing. As a photographer that enjoys taking family photos, I want to capture those formal photos, because those are important. However, allow the kids to have fun, act a little silly, make the goofy faces, & don’t put pressure on being perfect! All I want is for y’all to feel comfortable in front of my camera, because that’s how I capture the most authentic version of yourself & your family.

Is the holiday season really the best time of year?

In my opinion as a lifestyle photographer, Yes this is the best time!

Most lifestyle photographers will allow time in their schedules to do mini sessions during the Holiday season. A Mini Sessions is typically taken place at 1 location on a specific day & time, & the session time is shorter. Mini Sessions can be less expensive than the photographer’s typical full session rate. Mini Sessions are great thing, especially if you’re worried the kids won’t be able to hold up for longer than 15-25 minutes. Plus, if you hire a photographer you don’t have to worry about the set up, posing, & editing of photos!

Why you should have your family photographed!

Well, if you’re thinking about having a proper family session done, then start looking & find someone who will work, & then have it done how you want! Ask around & find a photographer that will be able to capture your family. It’s a special memory that not only you will remember, but your kids will too!

Plus, your family photos can even be presents for yourself or others in your life!
