Wedding Timelines are for the ideal perfect world & how we expect everything to go. However it’s more than likely wedding day might not go exactly as your wedding timeline says, so I want to prepare you for what to do if this becomes the case on your wedding day.
~breathe~
When planning out your wedding timeline make sure to, schedule out some extra time, aka wiggle room! You will want more than enough time for everything you have planned, especially when it comes to your vendors. I would recommended having anywhere from 20-40 minutes prior to your ceremony to hide away with your bridal party to take it all in & if things get off track this time is here.
This is why hiring a wedding planner or coordinator day of is important, because it allows you to put all the tasks you probably want to control unto someone’s plate that can be trusted. Plus, they will check in with all vendors for their arrival time before the day & help you with other tasks for wedding day depending on your needs! If you aren’t hiring a planner or coordinator for your wedding, be sure to consult with your photographer o videographer for when all the special moments will be happening, so then they are there & able to capture your day on the same page as you.
Tip: this is why it’s important to hire trust worthy & reliable vendors, so you won’t have to worry about anyone not showing up or over booking themselves. Always make sure to look through your vendors social media, website, & reviews from past clients to make sure they are a reliable trusted company. You don’t want to hire someone who isn’t experienced & if they aren’t communication is key!
In any case of emergency you might want to consider bringing a wedding emergency kit along with you to your venue or getting ready location. This could include; makeup, hair brush, makeup wipes, safety pins, bobby pins, extra shoes, socks, comfy clothes to change into, bandaids, nail glue, nail polish, extra false eye lashes, fashion tape, mini sewing kit, extra medicine, extra hanger, steamer, & anything else you might need! If you have plans to go on your honeymoon the next morning then have someone in your immediate circle take the things you don’t need to your house or theirs until you return.
If you have vendors not show up on time or still be working up to or after the cut off time then, take a deep breath & just know it’s gonna be alright. If you bring your emergency kit & end up having to do your own makeup then you do what you gotta do! If your photographer isn’t on time, then have someone capture that moment with their phone & record the moment or push back the timeline. Sometimes weddings don’t go to plan & shit happens, but don’t let it or anyone ruin your wedding day. Take a breather & maybe take a shot of something & figure out how you can resolve or make the best of the situation.
Also, don’t overpack your wedding timeline with all the photos & things you don’t want to do. The catch is it’s y’all’s wedding day, no one else’s!
